QNAP Unveils Economic Enterprise-level NAS Server—NAS-410T

/Hardware PR News/ - TAIWAN, October 31, 2005 - QNAP Systems, Inc. has recently introduced the enterprise-level economic storage server — NAS-410T to the market. This 1U design server adopts Intel Pentium processor and supports 4 hot swappable SATA disks to boost data transfer efficiency in a large extent. The server is built in with remote replication and other convenient backup mechanism to satisfy the demand of enterprise for secure and low cost data storage.
Reliable Software and Hardware Design
Mr. Jeffrey Chen, Product Manager of QNAP storage products, expressed that NAS-410T is the first SATA HDD storage server of QNAP and more SATA NAS models will be released in the near future. Embedded with Linux OS, NAS-410T supports different network protocols and data sharing on Windows, Unix/Linux, Macintosh, and Novell OS. The server also supports remote data access and management by IE browser anytime, anywhere. NAS-410T uses Intel Pentium 4.3.0 GHz processor and 512MB memory, supports 4 hot swappable SATA disks, RAID 0, 1, 5 and JBOD disk volume configuration and up to 1.6TB storage capacity. The server provides 2 high-speed Gigabit network ports to support load balance, failover, and multi-IP setting to ensure steady data transfer.
Variety Backup Mechanism
Built in with block level remote replication function, NAS-410T is capable of configuring immediately, scheduled and incremental backup. The enclosed client side backup software NetBak Replicator, external USB CD and DVD burner and SCSI tape backup support all strengthen the backup performance of the server. Besides point-to-point replication mechanism, NAS-410T also supports enterprise-level backup software NetVault of Bakbone. NAS-410T can serve as a virtual tape library which lowers the cost for building high capacity backup platform and enhance disk backup ability.
